Youth from the Ukranian Leauge of American Football show their appreciation to the A-C Valley / Keystone Youth Football program for the monetary donation to help kickstart flag football programs throughout central Ukraine.
• 2024 Forsythe Snowball Kickball Charity Event Raises $41,000 for local families.
The 14th annual event raised money for Zane Morgan, Julian Pennington and Millie Brunsgaard families, and the Clarion County Shriners received $10,000.
•Hailed as ”one of the last pianists in the grand Romantic tradition of Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and Rubinstein”, world-acclaimed pianist Barbara Nissman made her Lincoln Hall debut in Foxburg on Sunday, March 24 at 2 PM bringing her masterful, virtuosic bravura to the Steinway in a program of rapturous Romantic music.
• Northwest donates $30,000 to Clarion County Adventures to assist in funding Phase 3 of the Clarion Blueprint Multi-Generational Community Park project along Second Avenue in Clarion Borough. Clarion Blueprint plans for the park to provide multipurpose courts, for basketball, pickleball and volleyball, a splash pad and water features, a multi-function area, pavilion, and seating areas, fully ADA restroom & locker room facilities, playground, outdoor ice skating and/hockey rink, and green space for passive recreation.
• In a world often divided by conflict, the A-C Valley/Keystone Youth Football Association (A-C Valley/Keystone Y.F.A.) made a significant impact by financially contributing to the introduction of flag football in schools across central Ukraine. Teaming up with A18 Missions, a 501c(3) organization led by former Parker, PA resident Todd Gallagher, and collaborating with the Ukrainian League of American Football (U.L.A.F.) president, Yevhen Khomyn, this initiative is bringing a ray of hope to the youth of Ukraine amid the challenges of war.
The youth of Ukraine, currently navigating through the third year of conflict, have faced daily air raid sirens and uncertainties. In an effort to provide encouragement and promote a positive outlet, the A-C Valley/Keystone Y.F.A., along with A18 Missions and U.L.A.F., is introducing American flag football to schools throughout Ukraine. • Keystone High School presented “Grease” on March 14th, 15th, & 16th at 7:30 PM. The production was put on by the students of the high school.Students were actively involved in the full production from running the lights, sound, stage crew and acting.
• Six year old Lincoln Davis qualified to compete at the Keystone State Championship which was held (March 15-17) in Reading, PA at the Santander Arena. Lincoln was a First grader at Chicora Elementary School.
Lincoln was a first-year wrestler and competed in the weight class of 41 lbs. To get to States, Lincoln was in the top four wrestlers in his weight class at qualifiers. Lincoln placed second, which qualified him for the State tournament!
On Friday, March 22nd the Scrubgrass Grange presented a program on a call to action to learn about lifestyle changes that you can begin to implement immediately to decrease the risk of Type 2 Diabetes and live a longer, healthier life. The program was presented by Lana Kunik, Director of the PA Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education.
• Foxburg, PA - (March 11, 2024) – It was announced that KDKA’s The Fan 93.7 personalities Joe Starkey and Jim Colony will headline the 2024 Starkey-Colony Foxburg Fest Shootout, a fundraising golf tournament benefiting the restoration and preservation of the historic Foxburg Golf Course. The event was held on Friday, June 14th, 2024, at the course located in Foxburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
Starkey and Colony each captained a team of notable VIP sports celebrities and government officials in a Ryder Cup format competition. The first year event was a fundraiser and offered an opportunity to play alongside renowned athletes and prominent Pittsburgh sports figures.
