Savannah Anderson takes the last ride in Emlenton.
Off To New Location
Remember the Donaldson Car built in the 1950’s by Bob Donaldson and welded by Ray Webb?
The car was first driven by Chuck and Roger as a #1 painted red.
1969 became #2 and was painted yellow and black by Bruce. Carpet was added to the seat by Richard Hindman from his parents new house.
The coaster car had a car steering wheel, hand brakes and hard rubber tires and room for five passengers. Starting at Walnut they rode down Klees’s Hill, now known as Hickory Street, to the front of Bill Anderson’s house. Occasionally, someone would slide off the rear seat around a curve and get skinned in the loose stones. If any blood was present they would visit Patty Russell to get cleaned up and then return for the next ride.
The car is now in North Carolina waiting for Bruce Donaldson’s new home!
