I would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Keystone Coats for Kids tenth annual coat drive. If it were not for the generosity of the community and the McElhattan Foundation, this would not have been possible.
In 2015 when I started this project I was not sure how many years I could continue this coat drive. It would all depend on how the community would respond. The community just keeps giving so I keep the coats coming. This year 466 coats, 358 pairs of tennis shoes and 93 pairs of gloves were distributed.
Over the past ten years there have been 4,518 coats, 854 pairs of tennis shoes and 274 pairs of boots distributed. All the coats and shoes are purchased through Operation Warm.org.
Over the years I have worked with all the schools, Pre K Counts and Head Start programs in Clarion County, ACV First Program, Clarion County Promise, SAFE, Knox Caring Cupboard, Next Step Therapy, Keystone SMILES, Clarion County Children and Youth, Forest County schools, Community Action and the Clarion Psychiatric Center.
Donations can be sent anytime throughout the year to Farmers National Bank, PO Box 665, Knox, PA 16232, payable to Keystone Coats for Kids.
Donations would be appreciated by the end of October next year.
