Sandra C. “Sandy” Master, 82, of Chicora, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home Friday afternoon, January 17, 2025.
Sandra was born in Bruin on March 2, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Cassius “Cobb” and Madge McGarvey Bowser.
She attended Fairview Twp. Karns City High School and was of the Protestant faith. She was a social member of the American Legion Post in Bradys Bend, the Butler VFW, and the Auxiliary to the Chicora Moose Lodge. Sandy and her husband, Wiley, were the well-known owner/operators of the former Point Bar in Chicora. Sandy always looked forward to the company of her family and friends and she wanted them to know, “Remember me and smile, for that’s how I will remember you.”
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley J. Master, on January 9, 2017. The couple was married in Bruin on July 24, 1981.
She is survived by her son, James O. Murray and his wife, Susan, of Butler; three grandchildren, Morgan E. Stumpf and her husband, Jacob, of New Castle, Spencer J. Murray of Warrendale, and Rachel C. Murray of Butler; two great grandchildren, Harper R. Stumpf and Harrison J. Stumpf, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Barger, who passed away in April 2014; a brother, Ronald Ridley and a sister, Maxine McElravy.
A celebration of life service will be announced soon by Sandra’s family. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a cancer charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com
