It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert H. "Bob" Shoemaker, 73, of East Brady, Sugarcreek Twp., who left us early Saturday morning, March 22, 2025, at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh, PA. Bob was a man whose kindness and generous spirit touched countless lives.
Bob was born August 2, 1951, in Clarion County, PA. He was the son of the late Hilton and Alverda Shoemaker.
Bob was a 1969 graduate of Redbank Valley High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Bob spent his early years as a successful insurance salesman with Prudential and his last 20 working years for Alltel as an installation/repair serviceman. He truly enjoyed helping people, and over the years he dedicated many hours as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Sugarcreek community.
Those who knew Bob, know that he was not one to sit still. In addition to his work and volunteering, Bob was passionate about many hobbies and sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to play golf and croquet, smoke meats, and make syrup and horseradish each year. He was active with the American Legion, Veterans Club of Forest County, and Rod/Gun Clubs in East Brady and Marienville.
Bob never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like a friend. He was always willing to lend a hand, and his genuine care for others made him an unforgettable presence in the lives of those around him. A beloved husband, father, friend, and neighbor, Bob's humor, spirit, and love for those around him, created bonds that will endure long after his passing.
