Robert Eugene "Gene" Fair

ROBERT EUGENE “Gene” FAIR, 76, of Perryville, Parker, Pa., passed away suddenly Sunday morning, March 10, 2024, at Clarion Hospital following a several-year illness.

Born in Perry Twp., Clarion Co. on October 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Edna Conner Fair.

A 1965 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District, he was a longtime member of the former First United Methodist Church of Parker where he served many years as a Board Trustee.

He retired as a chief lineman from Central Electric Co-Op of Parker from which he was employed forty-two years.

Gene was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant. A Vietnam Vet, he earned the NDSM, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign with 60/device, Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 O/S Bards, as well as several medals on the M-14 and M-60 weaponry.

He was a member of Post 598 American Legion and VFW Post 7073, both of Parker.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, the former Linda McHenry; daughter Shelly (Chris) Fleming of Emlenton and son Jeffrey (Ana) Fair of Erie; two grandchildren: Maddie McHenry and Mason Fair; a sister Sally (Frank) Barger of Parker and brother Steve Fair of Parker; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Polm.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wayne St., Parker where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, with interment to follow at Foxburg Cemetery. VFW and American Legion Posts will conduct services at 12:45 PM just prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to local churches of family choice.
