Robert E. Miller


Robert E. Miller, 75, of Parker, PA, passed away Saturday after a period of declining health at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Butler.

Born in Cuba, NY, on November 2, 1948, he was the son of his late father, Fred Miller, and mother, Margaret Smith.

Bob enjoyed camping, country music, and being outside especially coon hunting. In his younger years, he was an enthusiastic wrestler in the Pittsburgh area, competing as part of the tag team trio known as "The Mongols." He even participated in a match that involved wrestling a bear for entertainment. Bob worked as a greeter at Kozy Rest Campground for 19 years, and in 2009, he was honored as the PA Tourism Employee of the Year.

Surviving is his wife, Nora Jean Miller, whom he married on August 10, 1991. Two children: Nathan (Kerry) Miller of Portersville and Doug (Patty) Miller of Grove City. Three Step-children: Tina (Thomas) Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN; Timothy Conner and companion Vivian of Petrolia; Travis (Cindy) Conner of Bruin. Three sisters: Katherine (Rex) Wood of Poplar Bluff, MO; Marcie (Steve) Prewitt of Cave City, AR; Pat Smith of Evening Shade, AR. One brother: Fred Miller of N. Huntington, PA. Seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Robert Miller Jr. and Tammy Rottman. Two sisters: Karen Thompson and Margaret Harlow.

Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Parker, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, Pa., on Wednesday, July 1, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday the 18th at 2 pm. The interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Conneration.
