Richard Hughes


Richard Hughes, 72, of Karns City, passed away at his residence late Sunday evening.

Born in Grove City on October 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Basil and Dolores Pavlek Hughes.

Richard was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. He also enjoyed working on vehicles. Richard was self-employed for thirty years as the owner-operator at Hughes Autobody.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rankin Huges, whom he married on October 26, 1968. One daughter: Amy (Jim) Grossman of Boyers. Daughter-in-law: Keri Hughes of Karns City; two grandchildren: Kirsten Grossman (Matthew) Ross and Megan Grossman.Two great-grandchildren: Hudson Tebay and Zelda Ross; three brothers: Basil "Bucky" Hughes of Eau Claire, Tim (Cheryl) Hughes of Eau Claire, and Dave (Martha) Huges of Hilliards. Also survived by one sister: Elizabeth Hughes of Harrisville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Troy Hughes.

Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Eau Claire, 201 S. Washington St., on Thursday, August 1, from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm and on Friday, August 2, from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 4 pm. The interment will take place at the Eau Claire Cemetery.
