Perry Township Historical Society Will Open the Two-Room School House on August 17

Judy Rawson, professional re-enactor from Strattanville, portrayed Betsy Ross for the Perry Township Historical Society’s open house on May 25th. (Picture above) She told the story of the making of the flag with a surprise ending. The open house was held at the renovated two-room school in West Freedom which has a fully furnished classroom in original style and a museum of local artifacts, photographs, and family histories.

The PTHS will open the school to the public on Saturday, August 17th, from 1 to 4. All are encouraged to visit the school house.

Donations for upkeep and continuing programs can be mailed to PTHS, P.O. Box 83, Parker, PA 16049.
