This free event offers both indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring the celebration goes on, rain or shine.

World Wood Day Celebration

In honor of World Wood Day, the festival will host a special kick-off event on Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM. It’s a perfect time to connect with neighbors, celebrate our local heritage, and start a weekend of fun.

Food Trucks

Attendees can look forward to a variety of food options from multiple food trucks stationed on-site both days. Expect a variety of options from deep-fried stromboli and loaded fries to savory poutines, pulled pork, and classic barbecue favorites, along with fair-inspired treats like cotton candy, corn dogs, and snow cones.

Experience Real Craftsmanship

You can witness live chainsaw carving transforming raw logs into impressive sculptures. Explore handcrafted wood products made from reclaimed wood, as well as custom pieces highlighting the natural beauty of Pennsylvania hardwoods.

Finely crafted jewelry and metalwork in brass, copper, sterling silver, and polymer clay will be on display. These pieces feature genuine stones and crystals, along with practical items like handmade Damascus steel knives.

Discover custom woodworking that offers functional art, including signs, planters, flags, outdoor furniture, wine racks, and hardwood flooring—all made from locally sourced Pennsylvania hardwoods.

Educational and Interactive Attractions

This year’s WoodFest offers a hands-on experience for all ages. Visitors can purchase a log and learn how to prepare it for mushroom growing, take home a free tree seedling, and get a free DIY bird feeder craft kit for kids.

Discover the secrets behind local flavors with PA Hickory Syrup presentations, and step back in time with Wood on Glass History exhibits that showcase rare photos and displays of traditional tools and artifacts from Pennsylvania’s forestry past.

The Kids’ Zone is packed with engaging activities including a lumber stamp craft, a tree identification quiz using log and leaf samples, and creating a Tree Ring Timeline to map out their own important life moments.

An interactive board challenge invites guests to match leaves and bark to the correct tree using a beginner’s field guide, learn how to estimate a tree’s age, and explore displays featuring invasive species, essential forester tools, and fun extras/free giveaways.

Rounding out the educational experience is the WoodMobile, operating both days to offer insights into sustainable forestry practices. Together, these interactive attractions provide a rich, hands-on celebration of Pennsylvania’s enduring lumber legacy.
