We are currently gathering information on Vietnam Veterans in the Emlenton and surrounding area, to honor those who served. We have a small number of stories, but wish to hear and learn more about our local Vietnam Veterans.
The goal of our project is to create a historical compilation to preserve and honor these families’ sacrifices and services in some way or form.
As time passes, it becomes harder to collect and preserve history.
Although we have compiled a data base of names from various archives, we are trying to connect with Vietnam Veterans (or their surviving family members) and hear their stories.
A simple collection of a dozen stories could be a future local compilation.
It would continue the strong tradition of remembering veterans who hailed from our community.
If you are a Vietnam Veteran or a family member of one, we would be grateful for any stories or pictures you can share.
