Butler, PA – The Butler VA Health Care System invites all Veterans and their families to the Veteran Information and Resource Fair on July 26, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Cranberry Twp. VA Community Clinic is located at 900 Commonwealth Drive, Suite 100, Cranberry Twp., PA. In honor of the 81st Anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement, Korean War Veterans attending the event will be honored and presented with a special lapel pin.
The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, and ended on July 27, 1953, with the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement, now known as Armistice Day. The Korean War was the first military action of the Cold War, overshadowed by the victory of the Allies in WWII, earning it the nickname “the Forgotten War”. When the cease-fire was proclaimed in 1953, over 5 million soldiers and civilians had died. To this day, a formal peace treaty has not been signed https://www.history.com/topics/asian-history/korean-war.
“We are proud to honor and serve all Veterans of all branches and eras, “comments Sharon Coyle, Director. “I encourage all Korean War Veterans to come out to this event so we can publicly recognize you and thank you for your service to this great nation. You are not forgotten!”
In addition to honoring Korean War Veterans, the event will feature informational displays of VA and community resources, enrollment assistance, toxic exposure screenings, onsite claims assistance, a tour of the clinic, and refreshments. Unenrolled Veterans are to bring a copy of their DD-214 to begin the enrollment process.
The VA is providing more care and benefits to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors than ever before, setting all-time accomplishments in 2023. Veterans who are not currently utilizing or who are not enrolled in VA health care are encouraged to attend the event.
