John W. “Jack” Gilbert



John W. “Jack” Gilbert, 89, of Parker, Pa. passed away Saturday evening, July 27, 2024, at Clarion Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born in Allegheny Township, Butler Co. on April 29, 1935, he was the son of the late William Audley and Mary L. Young Gilbert.

Jack was married to the former Janet Faye Clawson who preceded him in death on August 1, 1993.

He was first employed by the former Hillcrest Dairy of Allegheny Township, and then later employed by the former Glass Containers of Parker from where he retired with over twenty-eight years of service.

Jack was baptized Catholic by faith and was a great hunter and fisherman as long as health permitted.

Surviving are three children: Barry W. (Bonnie) Gilbert of Sligo, Sandy (Randy) Patterson of Sligo, and Barb McGuire of Clarion; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, as well as one sister: Faith Garrett of Ohio.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Richard Gilbert, Teresa Bechtold, Shirley Roberts, and Mary K. Dilley.

Friends may call from 2–4 and 6–8 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM at the funeral home following visitation.

Private burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday morning, August 1, 2024, at Allegheny Cemetery, near Parker.
