JoAnn Shaner

JoAnn Shaner was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved working, traveling, eating ice cream, playing Skip-Bo, and putting puzzles together with friends and family.

She was born October 11, 1925, in Shippenville, PA to Elgar “Bus” and Maude Fisher and was one of seven children. She was married to Charles “Chuck” Edgar Shaner on May 28, 1945, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1996. They moved their family to Colorado in August of 1956.

JoAnn is survived by her three daughters, Vicki F. Chleva – Mesa, AZ, Rebecca S. Robinson – Modesto, CA and Betty Jo Miller – Arvada, CO; six grandchildren, Emily (Preston) Kilburn – Castle Rock, CO, Walter (Shellie) Chleva – Castle Rock, CO, Melody (Tasha) Dockery-Chleva – Mesa, AZ, Mark Robinson – Farmington, UT, Andrew Miller – Arvada, CO, Elizabeth (Stephen) Heiser – Thornton, CO; and six great-grandchildren, Josiah Kilburn, Micah Kilburn, Kimberly Robinson, Aubrey Chleva, Kaylin Heiser and Bailey Heiser. She is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews, Darlene Hewitt – Prosper, TX, Rick Fisher – St. Petersburg, PA, Linda Rickstrew – Lakewood, CO, Diane Rapacchietta - San Jose, CA, Denise Fisher – Mechanicsburg, PA, Jeff Fisher – Harrietts Bluff, GA, Mitzi File – Bruin, PA, Judy Karns – Kennerdall, PA, Bobbie Jean Freese – Colorado Springs, CO, Jim Miller – Chicora, PA, Gary Fisher – Slippery Rock, PA, Allen Smith – Colorado Springs, CO.

A Memorial Service will be held at her church on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 am at Phillips United Methodist Church, 1450 S. Pierce St., Lakewood, CO 80232.
