James B. “Jimmy” McAnallen, III, 83, of Butler, a well-known former Chicora resident, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
James was born in Karns City on August 27, 1941. He was the son of the late James B. Jr. and Lucille Hiles McAnallen.
Jimmy attended schools in Karns City, Sharon, and Pittsburgh and was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora. He was a classic car enthusiast and had bought and sold several cars throughout his life. Most recently, Jimmy was a proud owner of a 1975 Volkswagen Bug Convertible. He enjoyed going to car shows and was an honorary member of the Rod Fathers. He looked forward to going to Ridgeview Sun and Swim and attending the dances at the Fairview American Legion. He enjoyed watching TV, especially soap operas and Law and Order. Jimmy was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, as well as a Penn State and Ohio State football fan. In his earlier years, Jimmy was a loyal Karns City Gremlin basketball fan and could always be seen sitting court-side at the home games. He most especially enjoyed visiting and talking with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
He is survived by his sister and longtime loving and loyal caretaker, B. Elaine Boyd and her husband, James M. of Renfrew, as well as many cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to Jimmy’s many caretakers over the years.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025. A funeral Mass will be celebrated from Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, with the Rev. Matt McClain, church pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co.
