HARRISBURG – Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-21) will remain a member of the Senate committees on which he sat during the previous legislative session. Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39) today announced committee assignments for the Senate Republican Caucus.
As he requested, Hutchinson will continue to serve as vice chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, and he will be a member of the Game and Fisheries Committee, Health and Human Services Committee, and Local Government Committee.
“I am pleased to continue serving on these important committees that have a direct impact on the citizens I represent,” said Hutchinson, who recently took the oath of office for another term. “This continuity allows me to build on my experience and deepen my expertise in these areas, which will help advance meaningful legislation.”
The announced committee assignments are in addition to his appointment, by Ward last week, as chair of the Senate Finance Committee, a position he has held since 2017.
“Sen. Hutchinson’s long-standing experience and knowledge of financial matters makes him an excellent choice to continue in his role as chair of the Senate Finance Committee,” Ward said. “His insight will not only help make Pennsylvania’s tax structure simpler, but also help position our commonwealth for economic success now and for future generations of Pennsylvanians.”
“I’m honored to continue serving as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee,” said Hutchinson. “My goal remains to simplify and improve Pennsylvania’s tax system to benefit taxpayers and support long-term economic success for our state.”
Hutchinson represents the 21st Senate District in Northwest Pennsylvania, with that district comprised of all or parts of six counties: Butler, Clarion, Erie, Forest, Venango, and Warren.
