Howard M. Rose, Jr.

Howard M. Rose, Jr., 78, of Clintonville, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at Quality Life Services in Grove City.

Howard was born on February 4, 1946, in McKeesport. He was the son of the late Howard M. Rose Sr. and Ruth Tieman Rose.

Howard graduated from West Deer High School. He also attended trade school where he received numerous certificates. Howard proudly served in Vietnam with the US Army.

Howard was married to Barbara Brown on June 10, 1967. Together the couple celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Howard retired from Franklin School District. He was a custodian at Victory Elementary School. He also was the owner of Rose Water Treatment in Clintonville for many years. Howard worked for the Clintonville Boro Water Authority as well.

Howard was a member of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene. He also was a member of the Rural Water Association. He loved spending time with his family, camping and hunting. He helped members within the church whenever he could.

Loved ones to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of Clintonville, his children, Shelly Frantz of Kennerdell, Cindy Gerwick of Clintonville, and Mike Rose of Clintonville. His grandchildren: Tyler Gerwick, Lauren Gerwick, Starr Rose, and Lonna Rose, His great-grandchildren Avry, Adam, Lorelai, and Taylor Gerwick and his sister Doris Davis also survive.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Rose.

The Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home in Clintonville is assisting the family with arrangements. No services are scheduled at this time.
