Sgt. Maj. George Schlosky, Jr., USA, Ret., 91, of Kennerdell, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025, while in the presence of his loving family at Clarion Hospital.

George was born in Winburne, on June 16, 1933. He was the son of the late George Sr. and Elizabeth Earnest Schlosky.

He attended school in Winburne and was a U.S. Army veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. George’s long and distinguished military career spanned more than 26 years. He had earned the rank of Sgt. Major and was the recipient of four bronze star medals, a prestigious military decoration for heroic and meritorious service in a combat zone.

George possessed a strong work ethic and was the owner of Port to Port Import-Export Corporation, the owner/operator of the Emlenton Exxon, and later Affordable Family Housing. He enjoyed cutting firewood, hunting, fishing, and talking to friends and strangers anytime anywhere. George had a generous heart, always willing to help others.

Surviving is his wife, Suong B. Nguyen Schlosky, whom he married in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on November 4, 1994; his children, Tammy Schlosky and her husband, Serkan Karadas of Springfield, IL, Kimberly McCumpsey and her husband, Josh, of Little Rock, AK, James J. “Jim” Hite and his wife, Kara; Mark Fox and his wife, Kathy, all of Kennerdell, and William Fox of Emlenton; his grandchildren, David, Elsa, Avi, Matthew, Sara, Nicole, KateLynn, Olivia, Madison, Dylan, Emalee, Eli, Elissa, and Evie; his great-grandchildren, Alayna, Nathanael, Hadley, Hudsyn, and Haven, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Eubert and Corinne Gerkey.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton.
