Garden Club of Clarion County August Report



The Garden Club of Clarion County held a meeting on August 13, 2024, hosted by the Foxburg members at Lincoln Hall, Foxburg. President Lee Ann Ishman opened the meeting; thirty-four members and two guests were present.

The business meeting commenced after lunch. The Special Events Chairperson, Pam Kahle, finalized plans for the club’s upcoming tea to celebrate the club’s 95th anniversary. The public is invited to attend the tea held at the First United Methodist Church in Clarion on August 24th at 12:00 noon. Suzann Rensel an Environmental Education Specialist, DCNR talked about the diversity of our fuzzy bumblebees, beautiful flitting butterflies, and fast-moving hummingbirds. She also spoke about our fall wildflowers and how the butterflies and other pollinators benefit from them.

The September meeting will be held at Zack’s in New Bethlehem with the Shippenville/Marianne group hosting.
