(Clarion County, PA) – The Clarion Conservation District, Penn State Extension 4-H Educator, and local farmers are teaming up for another year of “Fun on the Farm”; a weekly program series for children ages 5 & up and adults providing hands-on learning about local agriculture and conservation practices. The programs will be held on Wednesday evenings starting September 18th to October 2nd. Participants will visit three different local farms in Clarion County including TWIGS Tree Nursery, PA Mushroom Company, and Henry Dairy Farms.
Each program will begin with an interactive overview on the type of agriculture featured and will end with a tour and/or background story of the farm given by the farmer(s).
Participants will receive an item from the farm to take home! One of the featured farms, Henry Dairy Farms, is one of the Clarion Conservation District’s Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP) grant awardees this year and part of the project may be completed just in time for the program. Registration opened September 1st online at www.clarionconservation.com/events.
