Congratulations to the Franklin 10 U All Star Team. Last Tuesday they defeated Butler to win the District 25 Championship in Clarion. The team used a come from behind rally in the sixth inning to win a close 7-5 ball game.
The team battled is way through the losing bracket to earn a spot in the championship game. Franklin had lost its opening game against Clarion but bounced back solid from that loss by beating Oil City/Cranberry 14-5, exploding on offense against Titusville in a 18-1 win and then avenged their opening round loss to Clarion with a win to face Butler. The double elimination tournament meant that Franklin had to beat Butler twice in a row to claim the title. Any loss by Franklin would have given Butler the title. Franklin handed Butler their first loss with a 14-2 pounding in the first match-up which set the stage for the title game.
The team now awaits to see who they will face in the sectional game which will be in sometime mid July. Winners in the sectional games will advance into the state tournament.
