Shake off this too-long winter and “rock on out” with Pittsburgh’s hottest on-demand vocalist – the fabulous CHANTAL JOSEPH – in a night of R&B / SOUL on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 PM in Foxburg’s Lincoln Hall with her trio of the best-of-the-best of Pittsburgh’s premiere musicians – world renowned jazz and funk bassist Dwayne Dolphin, film composer Daniel May on the Steinway and world traveled George Heid III on drums. Voted, ‘Best R&B Performer’, in both 2021 and 2024 (Pittsburgh City Paper), Chantal is a singer-songwriter whose gorgeous voice, musical passion and inner-and-outer beauty are matched by her warmth, radiant being and dazzling personality. This will be a night to remember as Chantal and her trio perform music of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and songs from artists Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin and Nora Jones.
Originally from Cape Cod, Chantal has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, Indiana Jazz Festival, with the Boston Pops and Cape Symphony, and has toured with the Perry Rossi Orchestra.
Taking Pittsburgh by storm, Chantal was voted R&B Performer of the Year in both 2021 and 2024 and has been a favorite at The Fairmont Hotel, City Winery, The Brick Shop, Carnegie Music Hall, Greer Cabaret Theatre Lounge, Edgewood Winery, The Hollywood Casino at The Meadows and Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens. She appears regularly at Eddie V’s and Con Alma, where recently she also played guitar and drums as she has with Hugo Cruz and the VOICE OF DRUMS.
In HIGH DEMAND in the other ‘Burgh, she has been dazzling audiences, performing at Jergels recently in a concert with tribute bands Earth Wind & Fire & Michael/Janet Jackson, starring in a recent Valentine’s Show at Lincoln Park Center for the Performing Arts and performing in A Celebration of Billy Strayhorn & Gene Kelly and a recent Whitney Houston Tribute directed by Dwayne Fulton – both at the Kelly Strayhorn Theatre, among many others.

While versatile in her craft as a performer, studio recording artist, and songwriter, she also is passionate about community outreach and giving back. Her motivation lies in spreading positivity, inspiration, and empowerment to young and old alike. She is a voice and piano instructor at the Afro-American Music Institute in Pittsburgh and head of the Music Department at the Sister Thea Bowman Catholic Academy. Chantal Joseph is a dynamic musician, educator, and business entrepreneur. She studied Music Business at Boston’s Northeastern University. Chantal brings her professional experience ranging from musical theatre, studio recordings, songwriting/production and performer to her work as a vocal coach and educator.
During the 2020 COVID crisis, Chantal founded a non-profit organization called the Giving Grace Foundation. Its mission is to empower the youth from underserved and at-risk backgrounds through arts and education workshops and scholarship opportunities.
An advocate for arts education, she and The Giving Grace Foundation began working within the Pittsburgh public school system beginning in the Spring of 2021.
