Dorethea Dee Hartle, 87, of Chicora and a lifelong resident of Rimersburg, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.
She was born on August 29, 1936, in Callensburg and was the daughter of George and Dee (Buzard) Kilgore.
She married Robert “Levi” Hartle Sr. on September 23, 1954, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2003.
Dorethea worked at the former Davis Cookie Company in Rimersburg for 22 years.
She was a member of Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg.
In her spare time, she enjoyed the senior center, attending church, doing word searches, putting together puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Dorethea is survived by a daughter, Mim Terwint and Tom Muscatello of Chicora, six grandchildren; Melissa (Brandon) Gathers, Kristy Hedrick, Keisha Hartle, Brandon (Miranda) Terwint, Jessalee Hartle, Ashley Terwint (Landon), ten great-grandchildren, two sisters; Beverly Waldrop and her husband Glen of Saxonburg, Bonnie Altman and her husband Ray of North Washington, two brothers; Richard Kilgore and his wife Ellen of Sligo and George Kilgore Jr. and his wife Helen of Butler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bob” Hartle Jr., and two sisters; Carol Carmichael and Betty Bowser.
Dorethea’s family will receive friends from 10 AM to 2 PM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Varner Funeral Home in Rimersburg. A funeral service will be held the same day at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Guntrum, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
