Creating Greater Accessibility to the Clarion River
Clarion County— June 4, 2024 —Clarion County is currently working on a new Clarion River Access Management Plan. The goal of this plan is to enable greater accessibility to the beautiful Clarion River as a natural and recreational resource.
Plan Overview
The Clarion River Access Management Plan will focus on the segment of the Clarion River from Piney Creek Dam to Cooksburg. The main intention of this plan is to develop more ways for more users to enjoy and use the River. Projects like installing more boat launches and fishing areas, removing ADA impediments, and developing local connector routes may all be possible. Main access points such as Toby Boat Launch and Millcreek Boat Launch will also be improved upon to create easier access to the River. Other recreational-based opportunities will be created around the River to enhance the characteristics of the area. Clarion County is invested in making plans that encompass the wants and needs of the community. An online survey is available for anyone who is interested or has ideas for improvements. The online survey covers a variety of topics such as current accessibility, interactions with the River, outdoor recreational activities, and parks.
