Clarion, PA – Jan. 30, 2025 – The Clarion County Community Foundation (CCCF), an affiliate of Bridge Builders Community Foundations, is proud to announce its first-ever distribution of grants from its Unrestricted Fund to support local non-profit organizations. This milestone reflects years of dedicated effort to build a fund that empowers CCCF to meet diverse needs across the Clarion County area.

In 2024, CCCF awarded grants to three Clarion County-based organizations, furthering their vital work in the community. These awards were made possible through the foundation’s own endowment and a generous contribution from the estate of Janice Horn. Following a comprehensive review of submitted applications, CCCF selected projects that address critical needs and make a lasting difference.

The inaugural grant recipients are:

• The Clarion County Child Feeding Project (a program of the Second Harvest Food Bank): Funds will support efforts to combat food insecurity among children in the county, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.

• Clarion Hospital EMS: The grant will assist in enhancing emergency communication to provide timely and effective care for residents in need.

• Clarion County School-Based Mental Health Program (administered by Glade Run): Support will bolster mental health resources for students, helping to foster resilience and well-being among young people.

“This is an exciting moment for the Clarion County Community Foundation,” said Barry McCauliff, board member of CCCF. “The ability to support these outstanding organizations underscores the importance of building a strong endowment. We are thrilled to see the positive impact these grants will have on our community.”

The CCCF Unrestricted Fund serves as a resource to address pressing challenges and embrace opportunities that improve the quality of life in Clarion County. The foundation expresses deep gratitude to the late Janice Horn for her generous gift, which helped make this milestone possible.

As CCCF continues to grow its endowment, it remains committed to expanding its reach and supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of the Clarion County community.
