Butler, PA – The Butler VA Health Care System will host its first Veteran Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 10am – 2pm at the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center located at 353 North Duffy Road, Butler, PA. All Veterans and service members and their families and caregivers are invited to attend.
“This event is an opportunity to recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by Veterans, service members, and their families to this great nation,” comments Sharon Coyle, Director. “We at the VA appreciate their dedication and commitment to protecting the freedoms this country was founded upon. We are proud and honored to serve all who served.”
Those attending the event will be able to enjoy the following:
· Door prize drawings for Veterans and service members
· Free and for-purchase food items
· Lawn games and activities for the family
· Fire truck exploration and fire safety
· VA and community resource fair
· Vehicle cruise
· Tour of the health care center
· Speak with VA health and mental care professionals
· Enroll on-site (copy of DD-214 requested)
· Speak with staff from the Veteran Benefits Administration (VBA) regarding VA benefits and complete an on-site VA claim
· On-site toxic exposure screening for enrolled Veterans
·Learn about and participate in the Million Veteran Program
· Enjoy the sounds of 97.7 FM, The Rock Station
The VA is providing more care and benefits to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors than ever before, setting all-time accomplishments in 2023. Veterans who are not currently utilizing or who are not enrolled in VA health care are encouraged to attend the event.
