Brian Keith Forsythe, 57, of East Brady, formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully while in the company of his family Friday evening, July 12, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Brian was born in Butler on December 23, 1966. He was the son of the late Paul L. and Jennie L. Smith Forsythe.
He was a 1984 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. Following graduation, Brian went to work for Colony Homes in Shippenville. He retired from Colony Homes due to his declining health following many years of service. On August 31, 2018, Brian received a double lung transplant. This generous gift enabled him to enjoy five and a half years of life with no breathing struggles. Brian enjoyed gathering and laughing with his many friends. He also enjoyed road trips, concerts, movies, and TV sitcoms.
Surviving is a son, Andrew T. “Andy” Stewart and his wife, Mattie, of Pine City; two brothers, Marty Forsythe and his wife, Holly and Kirby Forsythe, all of St. Petersburg; two nephews, Wesley Forsythe and Alexander Jewell; a niece, Chasiti Dascomb; and two great nephews, Zaiden and Gavin; his good friends, Sam Brothers and his daughter, Val. They shared their home with Brian following his transplant surgery. Brian will always be grateful for their kindness and generosity. He is also survived by his good friend, Chuck Swidinski of Butler. Chuck adopted Brian’s dog, Stevie, when Brian wanted to ensure she was in a safe home.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dee Lynn Forsythe, and his nephew, Spencer Foust.
A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date. The interment will be in St. Petersburg Cemetery.
