Amy’s Closet Re-Opens in The Crawford Center in Emlenton

Writer: EditorEditor

Welcome Home

February 14th, 2025 was the official re-opening day of Amy’s Closet, located in the Crawford Center in Emlenton. The re-opening came with a bit of a struggle, since the furnace in the building was under repair for a few days, and it was a bit cold outside. Now that the furnace is up and running, business in the Crawford Center is doing well. You will find Amy’s Closet in room 203. You can enter from the Hill Street entrance.

Amy’s Closet will celebrate 30 years in business on July 5, 2025. The original store was located on Main Street next to the old Emlenton Grist Mill. In February 2015 the Mill burned to the ground and the Amy’s Closet building was also damaged and became unstable to return business. Oil Region Alliance offered space to Amy in the Crawford Center and it was decided that would be the new location of Amy’s Closet.

At this time Amy’s Closet also rented space in Franklin. In 2022 Amy decided to close the Emlenton store and operate only the Franklin location. At the end of 2024 Amy decided to slow down a little. Since her old space at the Crawford Center, in Emlenton, was still available she decided to move back. In January of this year movers packed Amy’s Closet and returned to Emlenton. Amy said that this was her last move, the next move would be to the Rest Home. During the Christmas season, Oil Region Alliance had space in Oil City for a new adventure. Amy was asked to decorate the windows with a Christmas theme and possibly do a POP Up Shop. This would be a new opportunity and Amy’s Closet moved in. The store has been very well received and has many great comments.

Amy’s Closet carries clothing, jewelry and accessories that are very boutique oriented and most of the lines are not in major department stores. Sizes range from 4 to 3X and include Petite, Misses, and Women’s. To name of few of the lines Mud Pie, Habitat, Escape, French Dressing Jeans, Multiples/Slimsation, Southern Lady, and various other unique lines. Baby and Toddler clothing and gifts, sizes 3 month to 5 Toddler for Boys and Girls are new to the store.

Amy’s Closet will be having promotions and new product releases which can be seen on Facebook. One big promotion will be the $20 Dress Sale in May. Details will be coming soon.

Amy’s Closet is very community oriented and very willing to provide fashion show fund-raisers. If an organization would like to plan a special event with Amy’s Closet, please contact Amy. The Emlenton phone number is 814-319-7339 and the Oil City phone number is 814-516-4234.
