What’s a “trail town?” How can our trails create jobs and business growth in Emlenton? How does Emlenton fit into the Erie-to-Pittsburgh Trail and other major trail destinations? This informational session will explore the subject of trails as both a recreational activity and an economic development tool.

St. Pauls Community Church Invites You to Hear "The Lost Boys of Sudan"

On Sunday, March 30 at 6 PM Angelo Maker will tell his first hand story of his incredible escape from Sudan Africa at St Pauls Community Church, Chicora PA. Angelo is one of the survivors of orphan boys that wondered the war torn spacesuof Africa and Ethiopia for nearly 10 years that finally gained worldwide attention when their plight became known to the United Nations. Their struggles and daily experiences with death have spawned numerous books and the title of “Lost Boys of Sudan”.

Snowball-Kickball Fundraiser Avalanches Into Success

Kickball in February? That was the exact thought of an idea generated by Vince and Carrie Forsythe of St. Petersburg. The concept behind the idea however goes beyond freezing your tail off and the risk of injury sliding onto a snow covered field for the heck of it. "We have always wanted to help raise money for a local kid or someone in need," stated Vince and Carrie Forsythe.

Thanks to a couple of readers, the above picture listed in our February 25th publication  light has been shed on the mystery photo.  The above men are thought to of been members of  the  Odd Fellows Lodge No. 646 in Emlenton, and the picture was taken in the Lodge quarters in the Odd Fellows Building at 5th & Main. It would have been shot in the early 1950s.

Farmer's National Bank Donates To Local Community

For the past several years, Foxburg’s community leaders, known as the Foxburg Team, have established several community events which benefit, not only their community, but non-profit groups and the surrounding communities as well. To help keep these community events moving in a positive direction Farmers National Bank has been helping with an annual donation. This year Farmer’s National Bank has donated $3,000 for the 2014 events in Foxburg.

Local Man Pursues His Passion With Photography

In the Spring of 2008 Josh Rowe purchased his first camera. In the beginning, close-ups of flowers and insects and scenery were his first pictures. As he gained experience, he was able to win a few local contests with his photography. Through out these past years, he has developed and sold numerous photo cards. Since 2010 his specialty photos have been close-ups of snowflakes.
