Fr. William Barron is the New Pastor for St. Michael The Archangel Parish

Emlenton: Since April of this year, St. Michael’s in Emlenton has had a new pastor assigned to serve the parish. However, because of his prior assignment to teach at Cathedral Prep and serve as Campus Minister, being at St. Michael’s full-time was not possible. Those assignments ended in early June and now Fr. William Barron will be full-time at the Emlenton Parish.

Wolfs Corners Youth an Ag is an organization in northern Clarion County dedicated to educating kids about agriculture. Founded in 2005 by the Wolfs Corners Fair, Youth and Ag has over 50 kids involved ranging in age from 4-18.
Throughout the year adult leaders do a lot of clinics to teach the kids more about the farm animals they use for their projects. They spend a lot of time teaching the members how to properly care for and exhibit the project animals they have.

Clarion County Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church just wrapped another successful season of ministry to mothers of young children in the community. One of the group’s projects this year was to highlight the importance of early literacy. They hosted a Books N’ Bazaar event in early May and raised enough funds to purchase 115 new books for area preschools.

For 99 years the Beatty family of Eau Claire has been in the retail furniture business. "J.M." Beatty started, Joseph Martin Beatty Merchandise, and was located in Barkeyville, Pa. and offered a variety of products including furniture. It was the hub commerce for local farmers and businessmen. It was a family run business with the Beatty’s six siblings helping out as soon as they were old enough to work including, Jim, Merle, Jean, Harry, Josephine, and Cecil.

Emlenton High School Alumni Association Presents Annual Scholarship Awards

On June 8, 2013 Emlenton High School Alumni Association (EHSAA) held their annual banquet at the Reminisce Banquet Hall just off I-80 Exit 45 and Rt. 38 in Emlenton. The social hour began at 5:00 PM. Alumni and guests in attendance numbered 80. The tables were set-up according to the year the alumni members had graduated. A buffet meal was enjoyed that had been prepared by Rod & Cindy Morrison of A La Carte Catering.

The Old Bank Deli & Coffee Shop, located at 323 Kelly’s Way in East Brady, holds a very special distinction. It not only joins a growing list of businesses to open a Village Post Office (VPO) in the Western PA District, it further holds the honor of becoming the 300th VPO in the nation. The Village Post Office is part of the Postal Service’s initiative to provide communities with expanded access to postal products.
