Bi-centennial Celebration at St. Paul’s


October 5th and 6th, St. Paul's Community Church (2167 State Route 268, Chicora, PA) will celebrate its bicentennial as a congregation in our local community.
At 6 PM October 5th, there will be a program filled with music featuring several local groups and a brief talk on the history of the church in German by Columbia University professor Dr. Korb.  That evening, there will be an old-fashioned cake walk and refreshments.

“Keep Off The Grass” to Perform at Scrubgrass Stone Church

“Keep Off  The Grass”band Members include; Tom McGarrity, Julia Chorle and Linda and Wayne Hetzler.

A Gospel Concert featuring "Keep Off the Grass" will be held at the Scrubgrass Stone Church on September 22nd at 7:00 PM. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Wayne and Linda Hetzler started a band in March of 1976 and a marriage in December of the same year. 'Tender Lovin' Country" performed as a group for the next 25 years throughout the tri-state area and have opened for many Nashville acts. They served as a staff band at Country Paradise Park during the late 70's and 80's.

Board members and executives from The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony attended by local officials at the site of the new Farmers National Bank facility in Cranberry Township, PA. The new full-service retail banking office is scheduled to open in early 2014.

Brion Schiberl Memorial Golf Outing Helping Those in Need!

The weather was beautiful on Saturday, August 24th for the 12th Annual Brion Schiberl Memorial Golf Outing which was held at Stoney Meadow Golf Course. A benefit which included a Chinese auction and steak dinner was also held at Otto’s Tavern in Emlenton in conjunction with the golf outing; all of which benefited Jerry Marzik. Jerry, a resident of Emlenton, was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer in the spring of 2013.

Chicora/East Brady Rotary Announces Scholarship Winners


The Chicora/East Brady Rotary Club takes great pride in announcing its "2013" scholarship recipients. Grants were awarded this year to Alexandra Boyle, Joshua Gibson, Maggie McKain, Brian McGarvey, Lacee Scheerbaum, and Michael Serafine.
