Christmas Food Collection

The youth group of Saint Michael’s Parish spent their Sunday (Dec. 1) walking door-to-door in Emlenton. This expedition was undertaken voluntarily, and its goal was to collect food for the Friends in Service to Humanity (F.I.S.H.) food cupboard of Emlenton for the Christmas season. The collection was successful, and the youth group obtained several bags full of foodstuffs to donate to the cupboard.

Keystone High School hosted Olympic gold medal wrestler Ken Chertow Tuesday evening in a clinic for wrestlers from both Keystone and Cranberry school districts. Chertow operates a wrestling gymnasium in State College and has instructed wrestlers from all over the country.

ARCA Presents Two Annual Christmas Traditions

It has become a Foxburg Christmas Tradition, each December, Allegheny River-Stone Center for the Arts and the Madrigal Singers transform Lincoln Hall, Foxburg, into a great hall reminiscent of Medieval England. The king and queen arrive in grand flourish and invite all in attendance to share in a festive dinner. The madrigal choir, dressed in period costume, entertains with madrigal songs and traditional holiday carols. They serve each meal course, while a story unfolds set to music.

Emlenton Area Businesses Welcome You To Light Up Night

Emlenton Area Businesses are preparing for Santa's arrival and lighting up the town on Friday, December 6th from 6pm-8pm with a "Passport to the Northpole" theme. A portion of Main Street will be blocked off to allow everyone to walk around and explore. Festivities begin at 6:00pm when everyone gathers on Main Street at the Christmas Tree in front of Lynn, King, & Schreffler for the lighting of the tree and ALL of Main Street. Santa will arrive on a big red truck at 6:15pm.

Remembrance Tree Ceremony To Be Held

Petrolia: The Christmas season can be hard for those who have lost a loved one. To help local residents honor the memory of their family members, the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home in Petrolia will put up a Tree of Remembrance during the month of December.

The Emlenton Borough officials, lead by borough Manager, Nancy Marano, held an appreciation ceremony at the Crawford Center Auditorium November 14, 2013. The appreciation ceremony honored Columbia Gas of PA and Allegheny Contracting, LLC for an outstanding job in improving Emlenton Borough with new ramping and sidewalks that meet the standards for the Americans with Disabilities Act “ADA”.
