A-C Valley Names Top Students For Class of 2014

The Allegheny-Clarion Valley Class of 2014, held their graduation in the high school Gymnasium in Foxburg on Friday, June 6, 2014. Sixty-five students participated in graduation activities with parents, family, and friends in attendance. Makayli Brook Terwilliger was the 2014 Valedictorian, with Erin Lindley Alworth as the Salutatorian, and Dr. Carolyn Sampselle as the keynote speaker.

Chicora Elementary celebrated their fourth annual boys reading event on March 14, 2014 with 56 boys from grades three to six in attendance. This year the boys theme was Minecraft and the book chosen to fit this theme was Days of the Knights: A Tale of Castles and Battles by Christopher Maynard. The activities were: catapult building and launching, painting a Minecraft cinch bag, cupcake building, snacks, and a book maze made from refrigerator boxes. The boys crawled through the maze with flashlights to answer questions based on the book. The boys were able to earn tickets at each station.

5th Annual Camo Cares Looks To Top Last Year’s Total of Over $105,000 raised in one day.
Camo Cares is a one day event held at the Fryburg Sportsmen’s Club in Western Pennsylvania that raises money to send children with life threatening illnesses and wounded veterans on their “Hunt of A Lifetime”. Camo Cares has quickly become a premiere event with thousands of attendees and over $105,000 raised at last year’s event alone.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, the A-C Valley Elementary 5th and 6th grade classes held their annual end of year track meet.
The meet introduces many of the students to their first ever athletic competition.
The children enjoyed the day hanging out with friends and competing for the “bragging rights” trophy.
This year, Mr. Etzel’s blue team took top honors with some strong running by Calvin Rupert and company.

On June 3, 2014 the students of Chicora Elementary had the opportunity to learn about a multitude of historical figures while visiting different stations of the “Fifth Grade Living Museum”. 

Keystone Names Top Students

Knox – Samantha Ann Beal has been named valedictorian and Emily Nicole Baughman has been named salutatorian of the 2014 graduating class at Keystone High School .

Graduation ceremonies were held June 3rd at Keystone High School .
