Voss-Best Exchange Wedding Vows

Jabe Micah Best weds Gretchen Elizabeth Voss

 

Gretchen Elizabeth Voss and Jabe Micah Best were married at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Doug Marshall was officiant at the double ring wedding ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Linda Voss of Greendale, Wisconsin.

The groom is the son of Jim and Kathy Best of Emlenton, Pennsylvania.

The bride wore a classic strapless ivory gown and a long veil.

Matron of honor for the bride was Dana (DJ) OMalley, a childhood friend, of New York. Bridal attendants were Meghan Wanzek of Madison, WI and Lindsay Schuemann of Greendale, WI, friends of the bride.

Matt Dreher of Erie, Abby King of New Orleans and Doug Marshall of Pittsburgh, lifelong friends of the groom, served as best men. Ben Voss, of Chicago and brother of the bride, served as a groomsman.

Special music was provided by Emmett OMalley, of New York, a friend and lead guitarist for Enrique Iglesias.

Readings were provided by Tyler Best, Tiffany Northrop, Katie Tully and Ron Stinson.

A cocktail hour was held in the Promenade Lounge at the Overture Center immediately following the ceremony. A second line brass band parade led to the reception at Graze/L’Etoil.

Gretchen received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Nursing at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Oshkosh. Jabe received a B.S. degree in Biology at Allegheny College in Meadville and MD/PhD degrees at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

The couple took a cross-country wedding trip to live in Southern California. The new Mrs. Best has accepted a position as an Oncology Nurse at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Best has joined the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of California San Diego, where he will pursue his interests in both geriatric psychiatry and research.
