Take The Parker Polar Bear Plunge

It’s that time of year again, Christmas has passed and the weather continues to get colder. To most of us hibernation sounds like a good choice, jumping into the frigid Allegheny River does not! Not unless, your FREEZIN for a REASON!
The Parker Polar Bear Club would like to invite everyone to their 8th annual "Freezin for a Reason" splash into the Allegheny.
Two years ago over 500 plus jumpers braved the water that saw spring like weather conditions. Last year almost 400 braved the colder weather.
Looking for something to do on January 1st? Make it an annual tradition and help support the cause. Money raised goes to selected local charities.
Registration begins at 10:30 am next to the boat launch. The plunge will be at 2:00 pm. All participants must fill out a waiver form to participate.
Come early and check out the local establishments, The Parker House, Parker VFW and Riverstone Night Club and Lounge & Grill will all have entertainment to keep you warmed up before and after the plunge.
The Parker Polar Bear Committee will be selling T-shirts and selling 50/50 tickets to help raise money.
The event started eight years ago with five guys jumping for no reason and continues today with many jumping for a great cause.
