It seems everyone has a book in mind that they’d love to write. Some only want to give copies to their friends and relatives; others would like to sell their book. But the process of putting their ideas on paper and getting them printed into book form can seem to be an overwhelming task.
The staff at Mechling Bookbindery/Bookbinders Workshop, of Chicora, hopes to calm the fears of would-be writers. They are holding a “Self-Publishing Conference” on Saturday, April 25, 2015 for those who want to see their dream come true.
The event is scheduled for a full, enjoyable day of learning, from 9 am to 4 pm with sign-in starting at 8:30. Nine guest speakers will talk about their experiences as writers and offer tips on manuscript prep, research methods and sources, documentation, layout, scanning and photo prep, copyright and ISBNs, working with a printer, and marketing.
