PennDOT Presentation to Spotlight Emlenton Hill Improvement Project

Oil City – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites the public to a presentation on the Emlenton Hill Improvement Project in Venango County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Crawford Center Auditorium in Emlenton.

PennDOT officials will be on hand to explain the history, planning and construction of the two-year-long project on Route 38 in Emlenton Borough and Scrubgrass Township. The project started in March 2013 and is now nearing completion.

The project involved reconstruction of Route 38 from the intersection with Route 208 to the intersection with Route 268. The initial construction contract cost was $17,156,493. Work included construction of six reinforced concrete retaining walls.
