Keystone Cheerleaders Named Co-Champions at District 9 Competition

District 9 Cheer Champions


DUBOIS, Pa. – Keystone and St. Marys are the co-champions of the 2014 District 9 Competitive Cheer championships held Saturday at DuBois High School.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Dutch tied for first place, Elk County Catholic was third.

Nine of the 12 teams qualified for the state championships. Also qualifying were Redbank Valley in fourth place, Karns City in fifth place, Curwensville in sixth place, DuBois in seventh place, Punxsutawney in eighth and A-C Valley in ninth place.

Rounding out the 12-team competition were Cranberry in 10th, Kane in 11thplace and Bradford in 12th place.

The Keystone Cheer squad will advance to the PIAA State Cheer Championships which are January 24th and 25th at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.

The Keystone Panthers are coached by Kami Coursen and assistant Emily Zerbe.
